Recharge Plus Innovates its Way Though Covid

Covid has changed the way we work out - and this may indeed be a permanent change.

Pre-Covid, exercising meant leaving home and going to a gym or a pilates studio or a yoga studio etc. As we now learn to live with Covid, gyms are still struggling to get the number of people back in through their doors and to their classes as was the case pre-Covid.

People are thinking about everything differently; the cleaning standards, the number of people in the venue, the cleaning of the equipment in between users, the air flow, the shared equipment and bathrooms - the list goes on.

This is not to say that people have given up on exercise. This is not the case. There has been a surge in new walkers, runners and cyclists out there as we can all attest to.  People have invested in gym equipment for their home or garage. You may recall, it totally sold out in the peak of Covid.

The leaders of the pack have adapted their ways in order to retain their client base. Live virtual classes took off in the Covid peak (eg via zoom).

Recharge Plus was at the forefront of innovation by providing clients with live classes to get them through the umpteen lockdowns that Melbourne faced.

Once restrictions eased, they went on to offer ‘hybrid’ classes so clients had the choice of participating in a live class the Recharge Plus studio or remotely.

In addition classes were recorded and uploaded to offer clients “Recharge Plus on Demand”. This allowed them to choose to do a variety of classes anywhere and anytime that suited them. It also had some new class options that weren’t available in the live studio classes.

This required a substantial investment in technology, including a new website and a custom built computer. However it has enabled Recharge Plus to push on regardless of circumstance and offer something for everyone - in whatever way suits them! What’s more, at the present time of writing, I myself have Covid, so now my client have the ability to keep up their fitness, while I take the time needed to recover.

So now that the world is learning to live with Covid, why are many people still choosing to work out remotely? Let’s look into this further.

Let’s face it, some people actually prefer it! Some clients that came into the Recharge Plus studio pre-covid and joined via live virtual classes during our lock downs, are still joining us via zoom and they actually prefer it. Why may this be? Listed below are some possible reasons.
